Purpose of the Position:

We are seeking a dynamic and culturally fluent New Business Manager & Content Strategist to drive the growth of Morning Studio while crafting engaging branded content strategies for our diverse client base. This role requires a unique blend of business acumen, storytelling expertise, and an in-depth understanding of Hong Kong's fast-paced cultural and media landscape.
 

In this role, you will:

1. Business Development

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with prospective clients, agencies, and partners in Hong Kong and beyond.
  • Develop and present tailored proposals that align with client objectives and Morning Studio and SCMP Advertising+ offerings.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales teams to develop innovative content-led solutions that meet client needs and drive revenue growth.
  • Keep abreast of market trends and industry developments to inform strategy and identify potential growth areas.

2. Content Strategy

  • Work closely with clients and internal teams to conceptualise, plan, and execute compelling branded content campaigns.
  • Develop innovative, multimedia content strategies that align with both client objectives and Morning Studio’s editorial integrity.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions to produce ideas that resonate with Hong Kong audiences and beyond.
  • Monitor and measure campaign performance, leveraging insights to refine strategies and ensure ROI for Morning Studio and clients.

3. Cultural and Market Expertise

  • Act as a cultural ambassador, leveraging an in-depth understanding of Hong Kong’s local trends, values, and consumer behavior to shape impactful content and business strategies.
  • Ensure all campaigns are culturally relevant, resonating with Cantonese-speaking and Hong Kong-based audiences.
  • Provide insights and feedback to the broader team on market-specific challenges and opportunities.

4. Collaboration and Leadership

  • Serve as a key liaison between clients, sales, editorial, and production teams.
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
  • Represent Morning Studio in external meetings, pitches, and industry events as needed.


Skills and Experience that will Lead to Success: 

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 6-10 years of experience in business development, content strategy, or a related role in media, advertising, or publishing.
  • Fluency in Cantonese and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Deep understanding of Hong Kong’s cultural nuances, consumer behaviors, and media landscape.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute creative content strategies that drive measurable results.
  • Strong multitasking and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and thrive under pressure in a fast-moving environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with global or regional brands in a content, business development, public relations or marketing capacity.
  • Familiarity with branded content production across multiple formats, including video, social, and native content.
  • Passion for storytelling and a strong eye for detail.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools and performance metrics for content campaigns.
 

Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
