Purpose of the position:
We are seeking a skilled AI Engineer to contribute to our business strategy projects. In this role, you will report to the lead engineer and collaborate closely with our engineering and product squad within the organisation. This role supports feature development on an agile team, delivering key AI-powered features to a global audience to support SCMP’s initiatives.
In this role, you will:
- Participate in the full AI development lifecycle, including identifying use cases, assessing feasibility, defining success metrics, feature engineering, testing and validation for assigned AI and software projects.
- Build and deploy agentic workflows and integrate cutting-edge AI models into production environments.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and knowledge sharing among team members.
- Stay up-to-date with technologies, trends, and best practices in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and software engineering, making recommendations for their adoption.
- Deliver across the applications lifecycle including development, testing & deployment, maintenance, documentation as well as ongoing enhancement and support.
Skills and Experience that will lead to success:
- Degree holder or above in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in software development or AI engineering.
- Deep knowledge of AI models (e.g., LLMs, Generative AI) and Open-Source Agentic AI Frameworks (e.g., OpenCode, LangChain).
- Hands-on experience with Agentic Coding and building autonomous or semi-autonomous AI agents.
- Knowledge in Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, microservice architecture and Cloud is an advantage.
- Ability to problem solve through collaboration and asking the right questions to business users.
- Good team player and willing to learn.
Work location will be at Shenzhen office.
