SCMP Enterprise+ is part of the commercial arm of SCMP Group, providing strategic business solutions encompassing intelligence, connections, and engagement to corporations. Our portfolio includes group subscriptions, licensing, syndication, merchandising, and business leader community memberships, aimed at contributing to SCMP’s revenue goals and delivering service excellence.

Purpose of the Position:
We are seeking a dynamic Vice President of Enterprise+ to spearhead corporate business development and trade marketing. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, you will lead sales, marketing, and community building for SCMP’s Enterprise products globally and in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will possess a visionary leadership style, and a proven track record in sales management, business development, trade marketing, and industry expertise.

In this role, you will: 

Overall Team Leadership
  1. Enterprise+ Leadership: Supervise and manage a team consisting of diverse expertise, including business development sales, trade marketing, community, and partnerships professionals. Setting clear goals and guiding to achieve revenue targets with efficiency and through successful marketing activities.
  2. Product Strategy: Ideation and improvement of existing enterprise product portfolio based on client needs, feedback, and market intelligence.  The product portfolio currently comprises subscriptions, community membership, archive licensing, syndication, and merchandising.
  3. Data-driven reporting and feedback discipline: Champion data-driven reporting and feedback discipline, representing the business line in cross-functional meetings, providing accurate reports, and integrating evolving client needs into product design considerations.
Business Development & Sales
  1. Business Development & Sales Strategy: Formulate data-driven and industry-based sales strategies/tactics via understanding industry-specific client needs and challenges, along with historical internal client data or opportunities. Evaluate market potential, develop target client lists, and offer customised solutions for respective clients. Expanding global reach through strategic and select reseller/agent models
  2. Sales and Business Development: Retain, upsell and grow existing corporate clients with a goal of optimising share of wallet.Overseeing strategic client activities including sales presentations, sales pipeline,  solutions design and commercial & contractual negotiations. Proactive resolution and execution of client projects.
  3. Strategic Client or partnership relationships: Build and maintain high-value strategic relationships with key and high-spend clients, identifying opportunities for upselling and long-term partnerships.

Trade Marketing and Community
  1. Trade Marketing and Community Strategy: Develop and execute the overall trade marketing and corporate community strategy to drive revenue growth - including branding, integrated marketing, digital marketing, partnerships and more
  2. Trade Marketing Activities and Campaigns: Oversee delivery and execution of integrated marketing campaigns with ROI and key metric (including sales conversion) accountability
  3. Corporate Community: Develop and execute a corporate community strategy including programs and activities that will grow SCMP’s CEO corporate community. Maintain relationships and engagement with key members of the community, being a principal ambassador for the community.

Skills and Experience that will lead to success:
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in customer-driven strategic business development and enterprise/corporate sales and marketing in international media, professional services, or finance industry.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a sales & marketing team. Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Proficiency and knowledge in the business landscape with a strong network of existing clients.
  • Experience selling business intelligence or corporate products with subscription business models.
  • Experience leading a multifunctional team and building products that fit market needs.
  • Impeccable interpersonal, written, and oral English communication. Articulate sales communication, presentation, and pitching skills. strong sales strategies and techniques
  • Data aptitude. Able to turn data into a narrative (identifying issues and suggesting solutions)
  • Solutions and results-driven, solving problems collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and experience in Google Slides, Docs &  Sheets or PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated record of cross-functional collaboration, internally & externally. Managing various stakeholders and delivering results with a tight timeline.
  • Entrepreneurial and thrive in a high-freedom, high accountability environment
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Cantonese or other Asian languages are a plus.

Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
