Our summer interns spend 12 exciting weeks as paid reporters in our Hong Kong newsroom, helping to cover one of the world’s biggest stories, China, as well as local and global news with a focus on Asia.
You will be integrated into our reporting teams for stories ranging from China’s economy to the politics and typhoons. We are looking for those studying visuals, graphics and digital as well as text journalism.

The Post brings news to readers around the world through its popular website www.scmp.com and on multiple digital platforms. Our flagship newspaper, launched in 1903, is printed and distributed in Hong Kong.
We develop news content 24/7, driven by a world-class newsroom guided by our Editorial motto of ‘Truth and Fairness’.
Based in Hong Kong, we have been expanding globally, with offices in New York, Washington, Singapore, Beijing and other cities in China.

Next summer’s internships will run from early June.
WHO TO APPLY?
Applicants should be third or fourth-year students, or be fresh graduates with excellent English. Fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus.
HOW TO APPLY?
Applicants should send a cover letter explaining why they see an internship at the SCMP as a useful addition to their career planning, and detail language skills and any journalism experience. Applications should also include published (in print or online) news or feature articles as well as a full and detailed CV. Include all these documents with your CV.
The deadline for applications is February 28, 2025. Successful applicants will be notified by end of March.
