Assistant Video Producer, Morning Studio (freelance/contract)
Purpose of the Position:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Video Producer to join our team. As an Assistant Video Producer, you will play a vital role in supporting the production of high-quality video content, from pre-production to post-production. You will work closely with producers, project managers and other team members to help bring innovative video projects to life. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for storytelling, strong organizational skills, and a desire to grow in the field of video production, particularly with an interest in video editing.
This role will be managing several video projects at the same time, it is essential that you be organized and excellent at multitasking.
Job Responsibilities:
- Pre-Production Support:
- Assist in the planning and logistics of video shoots, including scheduling, booking locations, and preparing equipment.
- Conduct research for video projects, including sourcing visual references and gathering background information.
- Help draft callsheets, shot lists, and production schedules under the guidance of senior producers.
- Production Assistance:
- Assist on set during video shoots, ensuring smooth operations by managing props, equipment, and other production needs.
- Support the director and production crew by coordinating talent, maintaining shoot schedules, and troubleshooting on-site issues.
- Post-Production Support:
- Organize and manage raw footage, ensuring files are labeled and stored correctly.
- Assist with basic video editing tasks (e.g., rough cuts, assembling footage, adding captions) using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Collaborate with editors to ensure final videos meet creative and technical standards.
- Administrative and Miscellaneous Tasks:
- Help maintain production schedules and track project timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist in coordinating with external vendors, freelancers, and other collaborators.
- Help maintain the team’s equipment inventory and ensure all gear is in working order
Job Requirements:
- A degree in Film, Media, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–2 years of experience in video production or a related field (internships and freelance experience are also considered).
- Basic knowledge of video production workflows, including pre-production, on-set practices, and post-production.
- Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro (experience with After Effects is a plus).
- Familiarity with camera equipment, lighting, and audio setups (experience with DSLR or mirrorless cameras preferred).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A creative mindset and a passion for storytelling and content creation.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and video formats (e.g., vertical, square, mobile-first content).
Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
