Purpose of the position:
Reporting to the Associate Director, the Assistant Project Manager is a key member of the SCMP Live events team. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional client service by providing end-to-end project management for events of all scales, from initial briefing through to flawless execution
Job Responsibilities:
- Client & Project Scoping: Conduct regular client meetings to define detailed event objectives, requirements, and briefs.
- Project Planning: Develop and manage detailed project schedules, work plans, and resource allocation.
- Project Monitoring: Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure quality and timely execution.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates and preparing meeting materials and reports.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Partner with internal teams and manage external vendors to ensure all event elements are delivered cohesively.
- End-to-End Event Management: Oversee events from concept to completion, including creative development, programme curation, venue selection, on-site production, and entertainment.
- On-Site Leadership: Lead on-site coordination with vendors, overseeing logistics and proactively troubleshooting to ensure flawless event execution.
- Quality Assurance: Act as the project gatekeeper, maintaining high standards and fulfilling all client requirements.
- Strategic Support: Manage budgets, process invoices, and conduct post-event analysis to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
- Administration: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in PR, marketing, or event management, with a proven track record of successful event execution within a sizable corporation or agency.
- Agency experience is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high-quality standards.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Strong organisational skills, coupled with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficient in Google Suite; familiarity with website development and event management software is a plus..
