About Operation Santa Claus:

Operation Santa Claus (OSC), a homegrown flagship annual fundraising drive jointly established by SCMP and RTHK in 1988, has grown from modest beginnings to become one of Hong Kong’s most recognised charity initiatives. It connects thousands of partners, fostering philanthropy, with its legacy continued by SCMP Charities Limited, a tax exempted charitable institute under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (File No.: 91/7320)


Purpose of the position:

The role is to lead the operation of one of the biggest fundraisers in Hong Kong. By joining forces with leading corporations, NGOs and the media, you will help OSC build a sustainable charity for Hong Kong.


In this role, you will:

  • Be in charge of the operations of Operation Santa Claus and act as a representative in the OSC Selection Committee
  • Build  and maintain donor relationships (existing and new)
  • Manage  and monitor selected charities (existing and new)
  • Manage the daily operation of the OSC campaign and fundraising cycle
  • Oversee and manage the promotion of OSC and its selected charities, including print, website, eDM and social media
  • Manage and coordinate stakeholder participation at OSC ceremonies and events
  • Coordinate OSC efforts with RTHK, co-organiser of OSC, on OSC opening and closing ceremonies and other events
  • Oversee and coordinate SCMP coverage of OSC selected charities and major donors with internal teams
  • Oversee OSC finances including donation records, payments, donation receipts
  • Handle SCMP applications/nominations such as Caring Company and WasteWise
  • Participate in SCMP Serve monthly meetings and coordinate in OSC-related volunteering activities


Skills and Experience that will lead to success:

  • University graduate with at least 10 years of working experience
  • Passionate and driven to serve the community of Hong Kong
  • Experience working in NGO or with charitable projects 
  • Solid experience in managing a team, and work with external collaborators
  • Highly organised and detailed oriented, communicative and responsible
  • Confident and trustworthy; able to handle high-level donor relationships
  • Mature and people oriented; keen to mentor junior staff / interns
  • Familiar with MS Office, Google, social media platforms (LinkedIn, FB, IG)
  • Bilingual in English and Cantonese


Work location will be at Causeway Bay office
