Data Scientist
Purpose of the position:
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our Strategy and Data team. As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning to extract valuable insights from complex data sets. Your contributions will be instrumental in steering data-driven decision-making processes that foster business growth and innovation. This role will also require close collaboration with engineers to develop predictive engines for integration into existing products.
In this role, you will:
Analyze large and complex data sets:
- Utilize advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to extract meaningful insights.
- Apply a deep understanding of data structures and patterns to derive actionable recommendations.
Develop predictive models and algorithms:
- Contribute to the creation of robust models that address business problems and optimize operational processes.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in machine learning to continuously enhance model accuracy and efficiency.
Effective communication:
- Clearly articulate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between data-driven insights and business objectives.
Advanced statistical analysis:
- Apply a diverse set of statistical analysis methods to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
- Develop data intelligence tools to empower the organization with enhanced data analytics capabilities.
Automated anomaly and outlier detection:
- Design and implement systems for automated anomaly and outlier detection to enhance data monitoring capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate anomaly detection systems seamlessly into operational workflows.
Skills and Experience that will lead to success:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in executing data science projects.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL is a prerequisite.
- Solid working experience applying machine learning techniques on high-volume data.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing the complete data science project life cycle.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure is highly desirable.
- Strong logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex algorithms and findings to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- English proficiency is required
Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
