Purpose of the Position:

As a leading global news organization, SCMP has been going through digital transformations in the past few years. People's skillset and their way of working were changing accordingly. The Senior Manager, People Projects role will oversee and manage the successful execution of various People projects in support of the organizational strategy. This role requires a strong understanding of human resources practices, project management principles, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure the timely and effective delivery of People initiatives.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct research, analyze data, and benchmark best practices to inform People project recommendations.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including goals, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate within the People Department and engage the other internal and external stakeholders to assign tasks and responsibilities, monitor project progress, manage project timelines and provide timely updates to the leadership team.
  • Develop and implement change management, employee engagement and talent development initiatives and programs to foster a positive work environment and enhance employee satisfaction and development.
  • Plan and organize employee recognition programs, team-building activities, and social events to strengthen the organizational culture and promote a sense of belonging and teamwork.
  • Facilitate internal communication, conduct employee surveys and analyze feedback to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
  • Design and implement programs and initiatives to drive employee health and wellness and establish an engaging, inclusive and diverse workplace.  
     

Skills and Experience that will lead to success:

  • University graduate with at least 8 years of solid project management experience
  • Diverse experience in multiple HR and non-HR disciplines
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)
  • Strong business acumen and good understanding of HR practices, policies, and processes
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, independent, fast-paced, flexible, resilient and result-oriented 
  • Able to multitask, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A team player, problem solver, logical and critical thinker
 

Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
